STATE RELAY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The State Relay Championships is the largest event on the LANSW calendar in terms of number of competitors.

As the name suggests the championships are comprised entirely of relay events.

The State Relays are held in November each year. Junior athletes (U8 to U11) compete on the Saturday and Senior athletes (U12 to U17) compete on the Sunday. This season the championships are being held on the weekend of 16 & 17 November at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre (SOPAC).

Performances in each of the field events are allocated points, based on the LANSW Multi-Event pointscore system. The performances of all athletes in each team are added together to determine final results.

Further information for centres and competitors available here.

Selected athletes are invited each year to represent our Centre in various events, either track or field, at the State Relay Championships. State Relay athletes are chosen on results from our result system. If these results are not available, then parties must confer with Records and Rankings. The athlete with the best result is given first option to compete.

A sub-committee made up of Championship Officer, a Campbelltown Coach and the Records and Rankings officer are in charge of selecting the State Relay Teams. These people will make a date to meet to make selections. The Championship Officer must provide team list to the committee for their approval before posting selected teams.

Please be advised, not all groups will have teams selected. If the subcommittee deems an age group not strong enough in times or distances to have a team selected, they will not have a team.
